'Ocean Avenue'. Yep, in full. Here's how it went down.
THINGS KICK OFF IN SUPERB STYLE Bands playing albums in full can be something of a hit and miss affair. Not all albums are particularly suited for a live show, but when it comes to 'Ocean Avenue' it results in a set that comes firing out of the traps. 'Way Away', 'Breathing' and that title track results get everyone pumped from the get go.
THIS BAND MEAN A LOT TO PEOPLE They may not have had quite the same impact as the likes of Blink-182 and Good Charlotte, but today it is clear that they made a significant dent in their own right. There are a lot of people watching Yellowcard today. The massive cheers and singalongs that greet songs like 'Only One' proves how much this band matter to people.
YELLOWCARD ARE AS GOOD AS THEY'VE EVER BEEN This may be a show that relies heavily on nostalgia, but hey, sometimes that isn't a bad thing. Everyone is having the best time, especially the band themselves. As they blast through the likes of 'Twenty Three' with as much passion as they did when they first released this album, it proves that all these years on, they've definitely still got it.
SETS LIKE THIS ARE A CELEBRATION OF JUST HOW IMPORTANT MUSIC IS The sound of so many people singing "Everything's going to be alright" to 'Believe' is something truly special. It provides a welcome reminder of how music can drag us all through the darkest of times and many of the people here today have got out the other side with a smile on their faces thanks to bands like Yellowcard.
