Infusing production with a stream of electronic, synthdriven beats seems to be the direction many bands are heading as a means to develop and progress the metalcore genre these days. Michigan’s We Came As Romans being just one in the ever-growing collection, offering you a plethora of well-placed breakdowns, trademark brutal growls perfectly counterbalanced by the addition of clean vocals. With epic symphonic elements that annoyingly, at times, sit on the border of cringeworthy, the only thing missing is genuine progression. However, this isn’t to say you should avoid what is a faultlessly produced album. Just don’t go expecting anything too groundbreaking.
