Touche Amore - …To The Beat Of A Dead Horse Cover

Being heavy isn’t just about writing chunky riffs

Being heavy isn’t just about writing chunky riffs – it’s a conflagration of melody, rhythm and lyrics that makes something sound truly weighty. That’s what Touché Amoré do on their debut full length: where other ‘hardcore’ bands bludgeon to deceive they deal in the truly unsettling, as on the viciously miserable ‘Throwing Copper’ or ‘Always Running Never Looking Back’, which sounds like pure hate distilled into sound. What’s most impressive, though, is that they know when to strike and when to hold back, making the likes of ‘Suckerfish’ and ‘History Reshits Itself’ supremely crafted songs with enough bite behind the sly smiles to reward repeated listening.
