Between the labels, the press offices, the journalists, the booking agents and the gig-going public something has gone seriously wrong. This Is Hell should have been a massive deal by now; their angular, erudite and bruising hardcore should have risen to the very top by this point. For whatever reason, it has not, and the band are clearly set on changing that fact. Clearer, crisper and altogether sharper than 08’s ‘Misfortunes’, this is the sound of This Is Hell with a point to prove and ground to gain. This band are not the flagbearers of a genre, but this could soon change.
