Thief Club - My Heavy

While his usual outfit takes a bit of downtime, Hit The Lights vocalist Nick Thompson has been flexing his caramel tones with Thief Club, his one-man-project that so closely resembles the day job on paper, that you wonder what exactly is the point of keeping these songs as a separate entity. And considering the likes of ‘Brand New Ways’ and ‘Weight With You’ are stronger than anything HTL have put out since ‘Skip School, Start Fights’, it’s even more baffling. In short, this is great, and if you were put off by last year’s ‘Invicta’, this should remind you just why Thompson is such a widely revered songwriter in the pop-punk scene.
