The Peacocks have been around for a long time. In fact, the Swiss double bass flaunting three-piece have been spouting out punk rock-inspired rockabilly tunes like nobody’s business since 1990. But incredibly, ‘Don’t Ask’ sounds like anything but a band of tired musicians. Opener ‘What I Want’ has the kind of righteousness that sounds like it could be their first single on their debut album, while ‘It’s All A Lot Of Bollocks’ is a huge garage rock tune with a perfected rock ‘n’ roll chorus. This may be their seventh studio album, but The Peacocks have returned with their quiffs freshly slicked back.
