"Crushing slabs of aggression offset by sing-from-the-rooftops choruses". Yep, we'll take that.
Catch The Amity Affliction at Download Festival this weekend.
After truly announcing themselves on the world stage with 2012’s chart-topping, gold-selling ‘Chasing Ghosts’, The Amity Affliction’s fourth full-length was always going to draw heavy comparisons to its predecessor. While the majority of tracks like ‘FML’ and ‘The Weigh Down’ continue in a similar vein, with crushing slabs of aggression offset by sing-from-the-rooftops choruses, the Aussies venture into less formulaic territory with ‘Forest Fire’ and ‘Give It All’, allowing ‘Let The Ocean Take Me’ to work out its own identity. Playing it safe? Maybe. Going on to be another success story regardless? You can count on it.
