Maypine - ‘In The Back Of My Mind’

MAYPINE have a lot to offer on this new EP, although at times it does feel like they haven’t quite figured out who they are.

‘A Little Sooner’ could be an anthem in the making given a little more polish, while ‘Inside Out’ has a confusing A Day To Remember-esque breakdown and ‘Never Far Apart’ tackles the difficult acoustic pop-punk ballad with conviction – even if it does come across a little cringeworthy in part.

Generally though, ‘In The Back Of My Mind’ is a great, intriguing stepping stone for a band so early in their career, and it might not be too long until they’re hopping into the big leagues.

It’ll be exciting to see what they come up with next.
