We caught Mallory Knox at Slam Dunk North and learned some things about them in the process.
IT'S LIKE THEY NEVER LEFT
Mallory haven't played a UK show for a little while, but it doesn't seem like anyone has forgotten about them. There's a big old crowd watching throughout.
THERE ARE BIG, SWEEPING SONGS HERE
The likes of 'Shout At The Moon' and 'Wake Up' are given new life in the grand setting of Leeds' Millennium Square. This is where they were meant to be played.
AND THERE'S ALSO MOSH, APPARENTLY There is somehow a mosh pit to the ultra-mellow 'When Are We Waking Up?'. And it kind of, sort of works. Each to their own.
MALLORY KNOX ARE A GREAT FESTIVAL BAND
The huge singalongs their have in their armoury and radio-friendly jams like 'Lighthouse' mean everyone's heard something from this lot, and their slot turns in to a great festival set by a great festival band.
UNRELATED, BUT ALL TIME LOW STILL RULE
Once MK's set finishes, All Time Low's 'Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don't)' rings out from the PA, and if anything puts the crowd in even more of a party mood. As if that was possible!
