Make Do And Mend - Don’t Be Long Cover

Make Do And Mend return with their third full-length effort. How is it? Read on...

Connecticut post-hardcore types Make Do And Mend made one of the very best albums of 2012, and although their third effort isn’t quite the grimy, bracing classic that ‘Everything You Ever Loved’ turned out to be, it’s still well worth a look. After hammering away in the studio and announcing the album before anyone even knew it was in the works, ‘Don’t Be Long’ is an appropriately gritty, no-nonsense affair that focuses on catharsis (‘Bluff’) and the band’s now-trademark wounded delivery. Things even get a little upbeat on ‘Ever Since’, meaning this one represents a solid progression and an even steadier album.
