Jamie Lenman -  Muscle Memory Cover

"Jamie Lenman’s wounds may not have healed, but he’s channeled them into one audacious motherfucker of a double album."

“These here Helmet rip-offs, they don’t buy my lunch”. Five years after losing patience with Reuben’s eternal hovering at cult status, Jamie Lenman’s wounds may not have healed, but he’s channeled them into one audacious motherfucker of a double album. ‘Muscle’ is as heavy and direct as Reuben ever went – giant gutter-riffs from the same place Every Time I Die must dredge their filth binding impeccably to Lenman’s caustic growl. All of which makes ‘Memory’, the softer side, even more remarkable. He doesn’t just go acoustic: the talented bastard throws in porch-front banjo, bluegrass and even big band swing. Let’s not lose him again.
