Ion Dissonance - ‘Cast The First Stone’
Feel the fury.
Criminally underrated and plagued by ill fortune, Ion Dissonance are (understandably) one of the most furious bands on the planet.
‘Cast The First Stone’ is the deathcore trailblazers’ first album in six years, but time hasn’t mellowed them.
On the contrary, from the bludgeoning riffs and larynx-shredding vocals of ‘Burdens’ to the bug-eyed death rattle of ‘Perpetually Doomed: The Sisyphean Task’, this fifth album arrives like a scream from the depths. There’s no hope here, no light; but the band’s ingenuity elevates the likes of ‘To Expiate’ well beyond mindless rage. The results are brutal, and brilliant.
