"Pummel-a-thons like 'Soul Is Dead' are impossible to ignore..."
Glass Cloud are a perfect illustration of how to do rebirth properly. One-time Of Mice & Men vocalist Jerry Roush followed the less-than-harmonious split with his previous band with his new project’s meaty, experimental debut full-length ‘The Royal Thousand’ last year, and this new EP only reinforces the Virginia band’s ties with the more progressive side of metalcore. With the help of a watertight backline and a nine (NINE!) string guitar, heavy-handed pummel-a-thons like ‘Soul Is Dead’ are impossible to ignore and before too long, this band will have people queuing up for a slice of their bleak, enthralling fare.
