Gallops - Yours Sincerely, Dr. Hardcore Cover

A solid debut from the Holy Roar / Blood & Biscuits stable...

Two years on from their self-titled EP, Gallops are back with their eagerly-anticipated debut full-length and it doesn’t disappoint. Since the last release by this Wrexham four-piece, some of their math-rock counterparts have tapped into the mainstream – Fuck Buttons helped soundtrack last year’s Olympics! – so could Gallops be the next big thing? Hopefully. It’s a cohesive, consistent and enjoyable record with just the right amount of aggression and electronica. For example, ‘Rhythm Is A Misery’ could find itself being used on a car sales advert or played at indie club nights all over, while ‘Hongliday’ could define your weird nightmares from here on in. Keep an eye on this lot; debuts like this don’t go unnoticed for long…
