From Indian Lakes - Absent Sounds Cover

From Indian Lakes have been quietly bubbling away for a few years. Now's their time to breakthrough.

These Californian indie-rock chaps have been quietly perfecting their even quieter style for over half a decade, but if new album ‘Absent Sounds’ is your first encounter, then be prepared to bathe in a sea of timeless and tender folk-tinged tranquillity. Their first release since signing with Triple Crown continues the formula forged on 2012’s ‘Able Bodies’ in being mellow and comforting without getting dull. Standout ‘Sleeping Limbs’ drifts in and out of melancholy, with vocalist Joey Vannucchi’s captivating and swirly melodies, while ‘Ghost’ transports you to the heavens with its warming organ drone and lingering refrain. Nobody does dreamy indie patter quite like this.
