Enemies - ‘Valuables’ Cover

Our thoughts on the Irish quartet's final album.

Though slated to be Enemies’ final album, ‘Valuables’ is a defiantly upbeat record, drenched in weaving arpeggios and hazy atmospherics.

It’s always a significant risk when a previously instrumental band introduce vocals but – freed from the shackles of fan and label expectations – the Irish four-piece seamlessly fuse the lush, ethereal pop of ‘Glow’ and pulsing synths of ‘Don’t Go’ with their more traditional post-rock fare.

Though riff addicts may find this slightly wanting, for the patient listener, Enemies have left a fitting swansong. We’re certainly going to miss them.
