After a long, long wait Frank Iero’s Death Spells project finally sees the light of day.
Although there’s not much light to be found on the album itself, with this being the darkest project the ex-MCR man has to his name. Teaming up with friend and long-time collaborator James Dewees, the pair have created a scathing electro punk album that isn’t for the faint-hearted.
At times disorientating; the harsh tones, chilling spoken word segments and Iero’s uncomfortable screams lead to a claustrophobic feeling of being stuck in your worst nightmare. It’s a challenging listen that will no doubt confuse as many people as it captivates.
