“It makes me sick”, screams Dayseeker frontman Rory Rodriguez on ‘Vultures’ with palpable desperation, igniting the band’s third album.
Treading a line between cathartic, breakdown-heavy brutality and sweeping melodic choruses, the record swings back and forth like a pendulum.
‘Cold, Dark Winter’ shakes with confessions and ‘Desolate’ is stuffed with huge choruses. That said, they’re hardly pushing the envelope and we’ve heard a lot of these tricks before in different guises, the savage side of the band frequently outshining the rest. But this is decent stuff for those seeking mosh and melody.
