Danny Worsnop goes solo.
Arriving fashionably late, and sounding like he’s been drinking for weeks, the debut solo (country!) album from Asking Alexandria frontman Danny Worsnop has no right being as good as it is.
It should be a disaster. It should be a joke. But there’s proper bruised soul in its whisky-soaked seams.
From the swinging saloon hoedowns of ‘I Feel Like Shit’ and ‘Don’t Overdrink It’ to the hazy blues of ‘Prozac’ and ‘High’, this is accomplished, convincing stuff.
Showcasing his impressively wizened and worn vocals, and lyrics that flip from nudge-wink knowing to genuinely confessional, this might just be Danny’s finest hour.
