"Coldrain have enough ideas and intricacies on ‘Through Clarity’ to really start something big."
Nagoya, Japan’s Coldrain sound like they’ve got a point to make on ‘Through Clarity’ and the point is ‘we might be new, but we’re bloody good’. Honing a metalcore sound that takes the more melodic side of countrymen Crossfaith and mixes it with the metal cojones of Bullet For My Valentine, ‘No Escape’ and ‘Persona’ are enough to satiate any passing metal fan for their forthcoming debut full-length. Sure, the lyrics are a bit crap (such is the problem with language barriers in heavy music), but if you can overlook that, Coldrain have enough ideas and intricacies on ‘Through Clarity’ to really start something big.
