Their two previous EPs hinted at it, but this is confirmation: Blitz Kids are very good indeed. Recorded completely live, the ten tracks on offer here serve up riffs by the dozen, gutsy vocals and choruses capable of seismic shifts; this is an indulgent, rough and ready release. ‘To The Lions’ drops in with a catastrophic punch and throughout the next forty minutes the energy level never waivers. A guest spot from Kids In Glass Houses’ Aled Phillips on ‘Story’ will surely help boost the record’s popularity, but in truth it isn’t needed – this is an exceptional debut from a band that have more than paid their dues.
