You read that right. Andy Biersack caught up with the Rock Sound Podcast to reveal he will be entering the studio this autumn...
Andy Biersack joined us on the Rock Sound Podcast to exclusively reveal that he'll be entering the studio this Autumn to record his second solo album as Andy Black, with John Feldmann returning on production duties.
The man himself explains...
“Feldy and I are starting on the new Andy Black record in the Fall – so literally in a matter of weeks at this point. It will be completed by the holidays.
“About four or five months ago, the label hit us up and said they were very interested in re-examining Andy Black for a second go round. They seemed to like what ‘The Shadow Side’ had done and they were happy with the critical success - or whatever you want to call it!"
"I’m really excited to get back in the studio and expand on this. One of the things about the first Andy Black record is that it was uncharted territory and I was trying to make something that, to me, felt representative of the emotions and ideas that I had and I think in a lot of ways that’s why the record had so many different flavours and tastes on it.
"Obviously we had a lot of different people come in and help us instrumentally too. It was just a fun time.
"But I think on this record I’m a little bit more focused on what the sound is and I understand the project a little bit more in that capacity.”
Yeah - we're so stoked, too!
And Andy also revealed his other band Black Veil Brides will release their long-awaited new album in early 2018.
Here's a little bit of that...
“It's been produced by John Feldmann - and in an interesting way. We wound up doing it in three different locations because John actually moved studios while we were doing the record!
"So it was a fun record in the sense that I did the vocals in a bunch of different places over the course of a year, it was really fun and interesting way of recording!”
“We made ‘Wretched & Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones’ with John and, at least commercially, that’s been our most successful record to date. But what I think is interesting is that we’ve evolved significantly from record to record. So I think this album is a nice culmination of the many different eras of the band.
"I’m not going to tell you it’s our heaviest and most melodic album or [dramatic voice] the best thing we’ve ever done! [laughs] But it’s a great record that we’re really proud of and I think the fans are really going to like it and it’s a long time coming – it will have been four years since the last album by the time it’s out so I think people are going to really enjoy it.”
