By the look of things, Waterparks just announced the title of their new album on their tour merch...
This sounds like a parody article, but bear with us here. This is real life.
Waterparks have dropped a photo of the T-shirt they're selling on their North American run supporting ONE OK ROCK in North America. And the tee drops a few key clues about the next era of Waterparks.
The tee design features an essay of text, in signature all-caps style, playfully making fun of their fans. And in the text, it refers to the new Waterparks album as 'Friendly Reminder', as well as referencing three new tracks 'Noise', 'Lemonade' and 'Glitter Times'.
Check out the full text from the tee below (in all-caps, because of course it is):
"I AM WATERPARKS TRASH. I CAN’T BELIEVE ‘ENTERTAINMENT’ HAS ONLY BEEN OUT A YEAR FEELS LIKE IT CAME OUT FOREVER AGO. EITHER WAY I’M SO EXCITED TO HEAR ‘FRIENDLY REMINDER’. IT’S PROBABLY GONNA BE ANGRY. IF ‘NOISE’, ‘LEMONADE’, AND ‘GLITTER TIMES’ ARE ON IT I’M GONNA FREAK OUT. UGH. I’M SO CURIOUS TO SEE WHAT COLOR AWSTEN DYES HIS HAIR. RED HAIR AWSTEN WILL RISE. I HOPE GEOFF HAS ANOTHER SOLO.
EITHER WAY AWSTEN IS STILL PROBLEMATIC AND A BIG POSER. I’M JUST HERE FOR OTTOPARKS. MY WIG FLIED FIRST CLASS WITH NO SEATBELT TO VENUS FOR OTTOPARKS. I HOPE THEY PLAY ‘CRAVE’. I WONDER IF IT’S GONNA BE OFF THE SET WHEN THE NEW ALBUM COMES OUT. I’LL THROW HANDS IDC.
THE TOUR MERCH IS SO CUTE THIS TIME. YAS JUST TAKE MY MONEY. AND YES I AM FULL PREPARED TO YELL AT THEM FOR ONLY PLAYING SIX SONGS DESPITE THE FACE THAT THEY’RE NOT HEADLINING, DON’T CARE. NOT MY PROBLEM. GEOFF IS CUTE."
While the title of the next Waterparks album hasn't been officially announced, frontman Awsten Knight has been dropping subtle hints leading to 'Friendly Reminder' for over a year, including this little easter egg in the video for 'Not Warriors / Crybaby'.
You can check it out at about 1:38 in the video:
So... Friendly reminder that Waterparks might be releasing their new album which might be called 'Friendly Reminder' this year.
