Watch Gerard Way Perform ‘Jet Black New Year’ With Thursday

These are the moments that we live for and the moments that mean the most.

Everybody knows about the incredible relationship that My Chemical Romance and Thursday have.

New Jersey legends and friends from the very beginning, there’s a reason that the two bands have shared so many special moments together over the years.

And there’s a reason that Thursday have joined MCR for a whole host of shows on their current US tour.

And last night on their first of two nights at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, another special moment took place.

Gerard Way came out to perform Thursday’s bludgeoning classic ‘Jet Black New Year’, which appears on their ‘Five Stories Falling’ EP.

And it was something else.

It may be something that he has been doing at every opportunity over the last two decades, but hearing it done in 2022 feels incredibly special.

And both Geoff’s soaring vocal and Gerard’s vicious scream sounds so good.

And here’s some fan footage from the stands:

Here they are doing it back in 2003 at Hellfest as well:
