Yep, really.

Former Blink-182 and current Angels & Airwaves frontman Tom DeLonge has been named UFO Researcher Of The Year!

No, we're not making this up.

He was presented with The OpenMinds.tv 2017 UFO Researcher of the Year Award at this year's International UFO Congress.

Unfortunately he couldn't make it to the ceremony, but accepted via video message.

You can watch right here:

"Thank you for acknowledging some of the hard work I've been putting in to some subject matter that concerns us all," he said. "It's been a crazy whirlwind of a year or two."

"The Wikileaks thing happened, and then I think you guys saw that I'm into some serious shit. I'm making really good progress."

He also mentioned that he'll be making an unspecified announcement in the near future.

During the US Presidential campaigns, it emerged via Wikileaks that Tom contacted Hillary Clinton's campaign manager John Podesta about his interest in UFOs.

He's also been working on a documentary about the subject.
