Yikes.

Telle from The Word Alive broke his back stagediving last year. He tells the story in the latest issue of Rock Sound. Here's a taste...

Telle didn’t even realise his back was broken for several more days. Although in acute pain, he soldiered on as the band – guitarists Zack Hansen and Tony Pizzuti, bassist Daniel Shapiro and drummer Luke Holland – continued on the tour. It was just under a week after the incident when the frontman found out how serious his condition was.

“I got X-rayed for the first time three days later in Denver,” he says. “But it was two days after that in Kansas when I went to hospital and got the MRIs. I texted the guys in a cab from the hospital to the venue – where we played for 25 minutes that night – and I was like, ‘Er, I broke my back.’ I was half an inch away from being paralysed.

"That was honestly so funny to say out loud because it was so crazy. Like, I’d just played two shows since it happened.”
