And it's with their brand new single 'Jezebel', which drops next week.
Are you ready for a lot of news coming out of The Rasmus camp?
Ok, let's go.
First off, the band have announced the release of a new single called 'Jezebel', which is going to be dropping on January 17. You can pre-save it right HERE
But they are not just releasing it, they are also competing with the track to represent Finland at this year's Eurovision Song Contest. How ace is that?
The selection process will be taking place in a live TV event on February 26. The winner will be picked via a vote made up of TV viewers and a UMK (Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu) jury. Those who live outside of Finland will be able to watch the show right HERE
Plus, there has been some comings and goings in the band's line-up too, with founding guitarist Pauli Rantasalmi announcing he has left the band.
Here is a statement from him:
“I have decided to make my departure from the band and seek for new adventures and challenges in life.
I want to thank everybody that has made this journey possible, especially all you amazing Fans, for the best moments and memories, I Love You.
I`m eternally thankful to my band brothers for everything and wish the best from the bottom of my heart. Lauri, Aki & Eero, I Love You.
Music lives forever!
"This is not the end, it’s just time to turn the page""
And the band have now welcomed Emilia ‘Emppu’ Suhonen to the gang.
She had this to say about the invitation:
“I got a very surprising call in the fall and answered YES. Although I was a bit nervous to go to the rehearsal room with the guys for the first time for a test drive, I still had a strong feeling that this would be a good thing. That feeling turned out to be right and playing together felt totally natural right from the first riff. I am The Rasmus' new guitarist, and it's pretty insane to be on this ride!”
Have you got all of that? GOOD!
Until 'Jezebel' drops, here's 'Venomous Moon' featuring Apocalyptica:
We chatted to vocalist Lauri Ylönen last year, which you can catch up with below:
