
The Mars Volta Have Released Their First New Music In A Decade
'Blacklight Shine'
A whole decade on from them disappearing into a lengthy hiatus, The Mars Volta are back.
And they are still as fascinating and fantastic as they have ever been.
They have released a new song called 'Blacklight Shine', their first offering since 2012's 'Nocturniquet'.
It is a track that shimmers with Caribbean rhythms and infectious hooks, showcasing culture as much as chaos. Still managing to feel off-kilter and progressive in-between its dancefloor-filling beats, it is a piece of music that is as unexpected and unique as the duo themselves.
Vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala described the song as, “a wave of rolling blackouts washing memories onto shore, a heartbeat that still remembers everything."
