The Maine wrote and recorded their 2015 album on the property.

The house that The Maine wrote and recorded their 2015 album 'American Candy' in has been severely damaged in a fire, it has been reported.

The Maine drummer Pat Kirch posted the news on Instagram in a short post, sharing "So sad to see that the 'American Candy' house in Joshua Tree caught on fire. It looks like the main house was saved. What an amazing place to live and make music. Also I read that they were able to get all the pets out safe and no one else was there."

According to reports from Z107.7, the blaze is being investigated under suspicions that it was caused by the manufacture of honey oil - and two men have been arrested in connection with the fire.
