After a year that could have ended them, Welsh party starters The Blackout want to release their new EP 'Wolves' in the the autumn... but they need your help.
The last year has been a difficult one for The Blackout - at the end of 2013 they had to postpone their headline tour due to co-vocalist suffering a sudden neurological eposide on stage, while the band's last album campaign for 'Start The Party' didn't set the world alight as they had hoped.
Now, they're back with plans for a new crowd-funded EP, 'Wolves', which they're hoping to release before the year is out.
'Wolves' was “born from the previous, frustrating year” says Gavin Butler. “It took a lot of determination and sacrifice to pick ourselves up, get out of debt and carry on with The Blackout. The main reason this happened was our vision for ‘Wolves’. Writing these songs not only gave us a way to vent our frustrations but gave us a fresh fervor for making music and the much needed awakening to the fact that we all love being a band. So we thought, fuck this, lets take back control.”
The crowd-funded campaign echoes their approach to third album 'Hope'. Says Gavin: “We called on the trust and dedication of our fans to help get our album ‘Hope’ made. Without them it would not of happened. Just like then, without the fans, ‘Wolves’, won’t see the light of day.”
