In a week where multiple UK venues have banned the stupid things, one venue in Stoke has a message for anyone thinking about bring a Selfie Stick to a show.

Well done, that venue.

After their explosion in popularity over the Christmas period, several UK venues appear to have banned the use of Selfie Sticks. Billboard is reporting that London's O2 Arena, O2 Brixton Academy and SSE Wembley Arena have all said they're a big no-no. The Academy Group, which manages 16 venues across the country has also put a ban on the practice, saying:

"This is in keeping with our existing policy that prohibits the filming and photography during a performance with iPads and other tablet devices and includes any such obstructions for the satisfaction of other customers."

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the SSE Wembley Arena told Billboard: "selfies are a big part of the gig experience, the sticks might mean you are refused entry to the venue. Our advice is don't bring them and stick with the tried-and-tested use of an arm."

Heh.
