Get well soon, Anthony!

Red Hot Chili Peppers' frontman Anthony Kiedis was hospitalised shortly before the band were set to headline KROQ's Weenie Roast last Saturday.

Bassist Flea announced the news on stage, saying "we live to rock, we live to fucking dig deep into the depths of our hearts and rock."

"But unfortunately, there's a medical thing that happened and he needed to deal with it. So, we're unable to play tonight."

A spokesman told Associated Press that the vocalist was unable to perform due to "complications from the intestinal flue", but is expected to make a full recovery.

Check out a Tweet from drummer Chad Smith below.

The band will release a new album titled 'The Getaway' on June 17 via Warner Bros. Records.
