PMFS vocalist plays UK dates and Rock Sound streams exclusive tracks from his forthcoming Hawks And Doves album...

Rock Sound is proud to announce that former Planes Mistaken For Stars vocalist Gared O'Donnell is bringing his solo project Hawks And Doves to the UK for three shows...and we're sponsoring the London gig!

The singer had this to say to us about the shows: "Me and my acoustic will be crossing the pond to drunkingly serenade the true believers with a couple songs I've written over the last ten years or so. Yes that will include a couple of Planes tunes and maybe a couple other people wrote as well. While I've always prefered playing with a band, the only thing worse than playing solo is not playing at all. so I'm sucking it up to put it on you. I can''t wait to see my European brothers and sisters."

The full trio of UK dates are as follows:

11 - LONDON The Bull and Gate
12 - PORTSMOUTH The Fat Fox
13 - CARDIFF Le Pub

O'Donnell also had some stupendously exciting news for fans of Planes Mistaken For Stars.

"The exciting news is that Planes are reforming as a five piece for a couple shows in October," he told us. "This all came about simply because Var from No Idea said please. He asked if we could get it together to help celebrate No Idea's anniversery show at Fest 9. Var (who runs No Idea) has always been good to us so we couldn't say no. Planes didn't break up, we just stopped doing it due to life getting in they way. It remains to be seen whether we will do anything outside of our Chicago and Gainesville shows, there is nothing planned yet but I will note that we all still love each other and the music we made together very much."

Amazing, more news on that when we get it, in the meantime enjoy these two tracks from the forthcoming Hawks And Doves self-titled album due for release sometime in the Autumn of this very year!
