Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz has signed to New Politics and LOLO to his Decaydance record label, and rebranded the whole thing as DCD2 Recordings to begin the label's second decade of life. Liked Decaydance? Then you'll love DCD2 Records.
The likes of Panic! At The Disco, Cobra Starship, Travie McCoy and of course, Fall Out Boy will stay with the label. The man himself explained the move on his website. Read his statement below.
"the idea behind the label originally was a gang, something that would be us versus the world… i took a few years off the same time the band did but i didnt stop listening to new music… i always felt like it was my responsibility to nurture and magnify the profile of other artists… today we begin doing that again. today i want to announce DCD2- this is the next chapter, the renaissance, and i’d like to welcome New Politics and LOLO to the family. i feel like i have more time to devote to this again and the state of music is so exciting right now. though we are launching this independently we are open to working with people who are dedicated, passionate and interested in finding new ways to operate. stay tuned for more announcements coming soon. welcome to decade 2. DCD2. PW"
