Paramore have opened up about 'After Laughter', whether the new album would even happen and Zac's return.

Speaking to The New York Times, Hayley said, "I didn't even know if we were going to make another record."

She added: "There was a moment when I didn’t even want it to happen. Then it was like, 'I want it to happen, but I don’t know how we’re going to do it.'"

They did do it, and the result is 'After Laughter'. Listen to lead single 'Hard Times' below.

On their shift in sound, Taylor York explained: "We’ve gotten to a point with our new music where we don’t really want to headbang anymore," and said Paramore have got to a point where they, "can do whatever we want and then when Hayley gets on it, that’s what makes it Paramore."

Zac's back, too (as if you didn't notice!). Speaking about his departure and return, he explained that, "Every teenage year that I lived was in this band, on tour," and that he "I needed a reset button."

'After Laughter' is out on May 12 via Fueled By Ramen, and Paramore tour the UK in June.
