Oceans Ate Alaska have shared their first new music since 2020, and reminded us of why they are still such a fascinating band.
The song is called 'New Dawn', and is straight-up down-tuned deathcore brutality, brimming with tension and technically bruising atmosphere.
It's a statement of intent that feels like only the tip of the iceberg for what the band have in store for us.
Vocalist James Harrison had this to say about it:
"Does a new day bring light or darkness to those who endure? Within the past two years, our world has changed significantly, and so have we. While biding our time since the last single ("Metamorph"), we've faced adversity and loss, yet also joyous moments as a band. 'New Dawn' epitomizes the death of what you once believed to be true."
