"It’s more of an honour than anything." - Mark Hoppus.

Mark Hoppus is 2019 Rock Sound Icon in the Rock Sound Awards! Pick up his world exclusive, commemorative Rock Sound Awards magazine and poster print now from AWARDS.ROCKSOUND.TV, featuring a brand new interview, plus a full brand new photoshoot.

Inside Mark's cover feature, he talks about influencing an entire new generation of bands.

Did you ever experience that element of imposter syndrome that people often talk about, when first breaking through, and people starting to view you as a figurehead for the scene?
Says Mark: “It is a strange thing, but at the same time it’s more of an honour than anything. When people come up and say, ‘Your music changed my life’, or ‘Your song spoke to me’, or ‘You guys got me through hard times when I was a teenager and I loved that record,’ I love it, it’s really cool. It’s amazing that people connect in that way, and always cool to hear that first-hand.”

Do you remember the first time you felt like people were looking up to you, and that you did have some personal influence?
“Definitely. When the next wave of bands started coming up, bands like Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco, they were saying, ‘Oh yeah, we love blink, we started off life playing blink covers’. A band like All Time Low did that, and they were coming through going, ‘We grew up listening to them’. That was the first time that people were saying our band inspired them to do their bands, and that was a really cool moment.”

This is just a taste! Pick up Mark Hoppus' Rock Sound Awards magazine below to read the full interview, and see his full new photoshoot:
