downcast have shared a new track and it's an absolute cracker.
The track is called 'britannia mills' and is the very epitome of melodic brilliance. Emotionally soaring, deceptively crushing and wonderfully constructed, it's a song that keeps on building and building to a heartbreaking crescendo. It's an example of intense and intricate songwriting control that will stick with you long after the curtain has come down.
Vocalist Liam Edwards had this to say about the track:
“‘Britannia Mills’ describes a challenging time in my life where I had to deal with a lot of traumatic experiences. I found myself in a bad situation that I eventually walked away from. The song describes the things that happened during this time and the struggles that I had following it.”
