Post-hardcore delivered entirely in beautiful Welsh.
Breichiau Hir are a band unlike any other. On the surface, they are your classic British post-hardcore band, emotional, rousing, euphoric. But dig a little deeper and you will find so much more beauty, in that the band sing entirely in their native Welsh tongue.
A good place to start in diving into this fascinating sextet is with their new double A-side single 'Mwynhau’/Ofni Braidd’.
'Mwynhau’ on one hand is a driving and direct guitar anthem, made for the late-night drives and lost inhibitions.
Vocalist Steffan Dafydd had this to say about the tune:
“Mwynhau translates to ‘enjoy’ or ‘enjoying’. This one is about chasing fun and a good time—the ways you and your friends used to enjoy spending your time has changed. Experiences are only exciting when they’re new. When they’re repeated, they lose their spark. This song is about the desperate quest to find that feeling again, after years or repetition.”
Whilst 'Ofni Braidd' is much more of a patient builder, letting the melodies sweep over you before exploding in a glistening colour.
The band will also be releasing their debut full-length 'Hir Oes I’r Cof will be released on 19th November via Libertino Records.
