“I love what they’re doing" - Jack White on Twenty One Pilots.
Former frontman of The White Stripes Jack White has praised Twenty One Pilots for their songwriting and what they bring to the current music industry landscape.
Talking to Rolling Stone about the re-formation of his former band The Raconteurs, Jack shared that bands like Twenty One Pilots give him hope for the future of music.
“It’s also great that people still appreciate a band that writes songs like Vampire Weekend and Twenty One Pilots," he shared. "It’s just really great songwriting.”
When the Rolling Stone journalist remarked that it was "interesting" that Jack White had chosen to name-drop Twenty One Pilots, he continued “I love what they’re doing. First time I saw them was on Saturday Night Live. And I thought ‘Oh, that’s really great. Another really cool two-piece band that can do something really powerful.’ I liked what they were doing, playing piano and bass, that guy, the lead singer. And it was strong."
He's not wrong - as anyone who has ever been to a Twenty One Pilots show can attest, it's powerful stuff.
