Prepare yourselves - it looks like tomorrow the pop-punk tour of the decade is going to be announced.
Pop-punk powerhouses Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer have whipped fans up into a frenzy over the weekend, with a series of teasers pointing towards a stacked tour featuring all three bands.
It all started with Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong tagging Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz and Rivers Cuomo from Weezer in an instagram post, with the copy "hella mega".
It wasn't long before the internet hivemind uncovered the website hellamegatour.com, and a series of social media accounts by the same name. The website is made up solely of a gif of The Office's Rainn Wilson and a password box - which as yet, no one has been able to crack.
Over the weekend as well, fans started receiving anonymous packages by post, featuring mismatched photos and names of the three bands, printed on T-shirts. Curious.
Further, the return addresses on the parcels with the mismatched tees is the address for the Los Angeles office of Crush Music - the management company that represents Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer. FASCINATING.
The Hella Mega Tour instagram has now been locked down - but before it was locked, they posted a single video. A single video of Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong performing 'Wake Me Up When September Ends', but he changed the lyrics to "wake me up, on September 10th". Which is tomorrow. In the video as well, he's sporting a dapper homemade tee with the FOB and Weezer logos both present, and the words "hella mega".
Green Day will announce the 'Hella Mega' tour -- with #FallOutBoy and #Weezer -- this week! September 10 should be quite a day...
