It looks like we're getting closer and closer.

It feels as though something is stirring in the Panic! At The Disco camp.

With a new album seemingly on the horizon and Brendon Urie teasing us with more and more juicy details, we thought it was best to look over the past few months to piece together what exactly is going on.

MAY 22 2017
Brendon spoke to Pop Buzz and revealed that the music he is working on is "bizarre":

"So I've got probably ten more demos that I've just been hanging on to. Nothing full again, probably just minute and a half ideas. But exciting stuff, stuff that I didn't expect to have written."

"So it's really just bizarre, yeah I guess bizarre is probably the best way to describe it. It's kind of out there."

"It's more broken down in terms of production. It's more relying on vocal, where the vocals as a background will build a chord and carry a song instead of a lot of instruments carrying. That's the best way."

Brendon surprises us all with the release of a festive song called 'Feels Like Christmas'. He also posted this message:

"Thank you all for making this year my favorite so far. Through the hard times and the beautiful moments, I’m glad we’re always there to lift each other up. I’m so excited for the new year and what’s to come".

While on Instagram Live, Brendon revealed that he would love to start dropping new music at random:

"Drake's got a good plan and I think I want to start doing this. Yeah I have an album but I also have way more songs apart from the album.

He just put two songs out randomly. Fuck it, I want to do that. I want them to see the light of day and there's just so many.

I don't like doing albums that are more than 10/11 songs. It's not my vibe."

He also hinted at some plans he has for an upcoming tour:

"I wrote some stuff out for tour today. Wrote some plans. Made a couple of mood boards. Edited some video together to get a vibe for stuff. I've been working.

Maybe that would be a cool idea. Each show we bring out one fan and they can walk backstage as I do the walkaround or whatever this new thing is going to be next tour. But whatever the new thing is you can walk and watch it from backstage and then watch when I come back and change clothes, we do some high fives then I jump back on and finish the set."

When asked if he is making a new album Brendon replied "Yes, it’s pretty much made. It’s in the final stages of mixing which is very exciting" and when asked what his favourite Panic! song is he said "You guys probably haven’t heard it yet. Yeah that’s for sure."

He also played a short clip of new music where he hits an INCREDIBLE note.

On another Instagram Live, Brendon described how the songs on the new album sound.

"One of them sounds like you could be in a 70's roller rink and the word fuck is in every chorus. About every line or so. One of them samples a transition that we used to use to walk out on one of our headline tours last year. There's a lot of songs on this album that use tour transitions that I wrote and recorded for previous tours.

This one is piano, strings popping. This is really pretty. Really sombre metaphorically. One of them talks about how as a society we celebrate an excess of drugs, alcohol and all this stuff and how you don't need to binge and go crazy to feel like you're doing it right.

There's 4 songs where i'm basically calling out to my mum saying 'hey look at all this stuff that has happened over these 13 years. Look how crazy this is'.

It's very personal. Everything is personal on it but it's very honest in a way that I haven't been from song to song.

Sure there's songs where I talk about having the best night of my life. Yeah there's two. Another talks about my stint on Broadway. Another sounds like the score to a Stephen Soderbergh film to me."

There's a LOT going on here.

MARCH 04 2018

Rob Mathes, an award winning composer and producer, posted a picture of from inside Abbey Road studio in London. His caption read "Mom! I’m home! It’s been a while. What’s in the fridge??? A little Panic! At The Disco —Have been in town around the clock on Sting’s musical. Brendon U & Big Jake Sinclair needed 1 more slice of mojo. My only option? A Sun morn session. Abbey was open! Yes! Fun was had!!"

So that means there's some last minute tweaking happening in one of the most famous studios in the world!
