Looks like we won't be seeing St. Jimmy on the big screen any time soon.
Few albums have left a mark on our culture quite like Green Day's 'American Idiot'.
Beyond the generation-defining songs and unforgettable shows - plus how it inspired a whole bunch of musicians and sold an absolute tonne - it's also reached the stage as a long-running musical adaption.
An American Idiot movie has reportedly been in the works for a long while now, but according to an interview with frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, it's no more.
Plans to adapt the American Idiot musical for the screen have been "pretty much scrapped", he told NME recently.
Might as well give the album a listen anyway, because why not:
The band's new album 'Father Of All...' is out now, and they'll be heading out on the Hella Mega tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer this summer.
