Good Charlotte are returning to their home-state to support the free press.
Still in the development stages, it has been announced that Good Charlotte will be headlining a festival in Annapolis, Maryland later this month.
The festival is set up to celebrate press freedom, one month after the mass shooting targeted at a Maryland newspaper The Capital Gazette which resulted in the death of five staff members.
The shooting struck a particular nerve with the members of Good Charlotte, who formed the band while students at the nearby highschool in Maryland.
Speaking to The Capital Gazette, Benji Madden said “I don’t know what we can bring to it, other than we just want to be involved in supporting the city. Obviously, we’re all shocked [from the shooting]. We’re all kind of speechless. These are moments when you really don’t know what to do to help.”
The festival is set to take place July 28 in Annapolis, Maryland. Good Charlotte are currently the only confirmed act on the line-up.
In case you missed it, Good Charlotte have just released the second single from their upcoming album 'Generation Rx'- check out 'Shadowboxer' here.
