Kiss's Gene Simmons has abandoned his attempt to trademark the devil horns.

He was widely criticised for the move, with many people disputing his claim that he'd popularised the gesture.

The web entry for his application with the US Patent And Trademark office has now been updated, and show that he's withdrawn the claim.
