Freeze The Atlantic, the band featuring members of Reuben and Hundred Reasons, are gearing up for a busy year recording and touring.

HR’s Andy Gilmore now guitar player, formed the band last summer when he teamed up with Reuben’s Jon Pearce and Guy Davis.

“I wanted to start another band as Hundred Reasons had gone on the backburner and Reuben had decided to take a break, so I got in touch with Jon and Guy about setting up FTA.”

The band is rounded out with XFM unsigned winner Tom Stevens of Archie and the Instincts and vocalist Daniel Flay making up the remaining slots. “When it came to thinking about another guitarist Tom was the first person I thought of as we’d been friends for years. Then we put up a notice for a singer and Dan answered the call!”

Fans could be in for a shock however, as Tom Stevens was quick to quash ideas of a “Reuben/HR mark II”.

“There's no point in that,” he said. ”Those bands are those bands and they’re damn good at it. I think the fans will still appreciate the passion and energy of the F.T.A stuff, and hopefully they’ll get what we're about.”

So what can we expect from Freeze The Atlantic in 2010? “Well we’re playing the London Barfly on the 29th of April as our first official show,” the vocalist continued. ”We also aim to record some more tracks later this year, keep your eyes peeled!”
