Frank Iero Will Be Playing Guitar For Thursday On Their Special Livestream Gig TODAY
It doesn't get much cooler than that.
Thursday are today (August 19) playing a very special livestream gig, to replace a tour that they weren't even able to announce. Support for the stream will be coming from Cursive (a set filmed in October 2019 at St Vitus, New York) and And So I Watch You From Afar.
The show is set to take place at 1pm PST / 4pm EST / 9pm BST and tickets are available from right HERE
If that promise of wonderful live music wasn't enough for you, well Mr Frank Iero will be filling in on guitar for Thursday!
As you may well know, My Chemical Romance and Thursday have a longstanding friendship, spanning all the way back to frontman Geoff Rickly producing MCR's debut album 'I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love'.
Here's a message from Frank:
"dere frendz,
I am honored and beyond excited to have been asked to play with my extended family, @thursdayband , and fill in for the very talented @tom_keeleyiii at the band’s first ever virtual festival - Signals V1 on Wednesday 19th August with Cursive + And So I Watch You From Afar.
Tom is unfortunately not able to travel in from out of state due to the mandatory quarantine restrictions put in place by NY and NJ, so i will do my best to honor Tom’s incredible guitar playing and do these songs the justice they deserve in his absence.
Getting to play songs that i have been a fan of for years, some of which i even got to witness being written at our shared practice space in Passaic Park, is surreal and a total dream come true.
I can’t wait to play with my friends and beam it all to you in your homes around the globe. xofrnk"
And here he is smashing out the opening riff of 'Jet Black New Year':
And here is Frank's rig for the show:
Seriously, it's going to be amazing.
