“Along the way you just meet people who are doing incredible things.”

Frank Iero is the winner of The Real Alternative in the 2019 Rock Sound Awards! Grab Frank Iero’s exclusive magazine cover to see his brand new photoshoot, and read how and WHY he does things so differently - it's available worldwide at AWARDS.ROCKSOUND.TV

Frank has consistently surrounded himself with artists and people that he believes in, which is in turn part of the reason he's kept touring and making music for so long  - check out a snippet of his exclusive interview below:

How important is it to you to be able to bring out other artists who approach things differently on tour, and give them a platform?
Says Frank: “It’s funny, along the way you just meet people who are doing incredible things. For me, touring and being away from home is a bit… you get sad at times, and it’s hard. It’s not the easiest thing, so I like to have people around me that I enjoy and that I respect. People like Derek [Zanetti, The Homeless Gospel Choir] not only do I find him to be an incredibly inspiring songwriter and musician, but also a great friend. He’s someone that I love to be around. I’m going to tour with people that I want to hear every night, who I want to be in the company of.

"It goes back to, what makes your soul feel good? If you’re going out on tour and doing this thing, and it’s work to you, and you fucking hate it and every ounce of your body is sad, and your soul is crying? That’s going to be a horrible tour. I don’t want to see that tour, and I don’t want to be on that tour, you know? Stay the fuck home at that point! If I don’t feel good about something coming up, I’m way past the point of doing things for the sake of fucking doing it. I’m not people pleasing anymore, I’m not doing any of that shit. It’s got to feel good, otherwise I’m not in. I’ll do something else!”
