Four Year Strong Have Covered Green Day’s Classic Tracks ‘Brain Stew’ and ‘Jaded’
It's a part of a new compilation put together by Pure Noise Records.
Pure Noise Records have announced that they have put together a special compilation starring their glittering roster.
It's called 'Dead Formats' and is made in partnership with Pabst Blue Ribbon, and finds them letting their bands run riot on the songs that helped shape the scene in the '90s and '00s.
And one of the first tastes is here, and it's Four Year Strong taking on Green Day.
And it is unstoppable.
They've taken on the mind-melting 'Brain Stew' and the blink-and-miss-it 'Jaded, two very different tracks that were originally released as a double single from '95's 'Insomniac', and added their own searing ferocity to both cuts..
Vocalist and guitarist Dan O’Connor had this to say about what it means to him:
"Green Day rules. They were the first band I liked. Hearing “Brain Stew” for the first time, I thought, ``if that's what guitars sound like, then I want to play guitar."
And here it is:
You can also hear LURK's cover of 'Fell In Love With A Girl' by The White Stripes which will also feature on the comp:
