Following on from yesterday's revelation that Slipknot will make their return to Download Festival in 2015, today's announcement brings something entirely different...
Devonshire rock phenomenon Muse will headline the second day of Download Festival 2015, having never played the festival before.
Speaking of their Download debut, Muse have stated: "We're really looking forward to Download. We’ve never played the festival before so it’s going to be really special."
Elsewhere, funk-rap-rock pioneers Faith No More will return for their first appearance since 2009 (playing just before Muse on the main stage), A Day To Remember will play third on the main stage, while Marilyn Manson will headline the second stage.
"We have been playing Download for years and I've always been proud to say I was just on the damn thing," says ADTR's Jeremy Mckinnon. "So to be asked to be one of the main bands on one of the sickest rock festivals on the planet blows my mind. Haha we were a garage band...We in ADTR like to put on a spectacle, and we plan to do just that."
Those four bands will join Slipknot, Judas Priest, Five Finger Death Punch and Black Stone Cherry, who have all been confirmed to play the festival's opening day.
Download 2015 is scheduled to take place across the weekend of 12 - 14 June, 2015, at Donington Park. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Thursday, November 20 from www.downloadfestival.co.uk and prices start at £170 for the weekend.
